DESIGN TREND
The Fireplace and Fire Pit
As we start to say good bye to the cold days and nights, we take a look back at the fireplace and fire pit trends we saw in 2018. They are becoming more popular in Australian homes and backyards. As they provide more than just heat, they provide entertaining spaces and provide a beautiful artistic statement in either your backyard, living area or bedroom.
Our favourite styles are...
1. Gyrofocus - Suspended Fireplace by Oblica
Groundbreaking, ultra cool and revolutionary. This is our favourite. As it is suspended from the ceiling, it demands and controls the attention of the room. It's a piece of sculptural art and will make your living room a 10/10.
2. Nelson - Slow Combustion Wood Heater By Oblica
This fireplace has the traditional elements that we love. It works wonderfully as a room divider and due to its double door configuration, everyone in the room can have a great view of the flames. This style of fireplace takes us back to cold nights at the snow.
3. Neofocus - Built-in Fireplace By Oblica
This built in fireplace is sleek and ultra modern. They take up no floor space, so they are perfect for smaller homes. We love how this fireplace doubles as wall art.
4. Custom Gas Fire Pit 'Outdoor Dining Table' By Jetmaster
These are more commonly seen in hospitality venues, they provide great warmth while in a formal seating arrangement. Perfect for having dinner parties with friends and family.
5. Flo Concrete Table by Brown Jordan Fires
Fire Tables have ample space for entertaining guests with drinks and food, we love how the fire is the centre piece for the table. We love to design seating joinery around these Fire pits to maximise your backyards potential.
6. Urth Smokeless Fire by Brown Jordan Fires
Circular fire pits are the classic style we see in so my backyards, this design is timeless and simplistic. We love to design built in furniture that follows the curve of the fire pit to ensure a cosy atmosphere for our clients.
