Manly House 04

Description

Situated on Manly’s Eastern Hill, our clients embarked on a journey to craft a tailor-made home that perfectly aligns with their family’s needs and preferences. Originally, the property was a single-story brick California Bungalow with a detached garage, but their vision evolved to blend the existing charm with contemporary aesthetics.

The core concept behind this project was to design a modern dwelling, integrated with cutting-edge technology. The initial character of the house underwent a transformation, especially with previous alterations erasing much of its original detailing. We introduced a second story with dedicated bedrooms for each family member and the guest room, whilst modifying the ground floor. Noteworthy additions include a front-facing double carport with a green roof and a first-floor deck, offering panoramic views from Manly Beach to the East and Manly Cove ferries to the West.

At the rear of the house, we incorporated a swimming pool, expansive deck, and BBQ area. Not stopping there, we embraced high-tech smart home features, with home automation seamlessly integrated throughout. Solar panels covering the roof enable battery storage, ensuring energy efficiency. The house boasts full air conditioning, complemented by two automated fireplaces. The pool is equipped with automated covers, and beneath the carport, substantial rainwater storage tanks contribute to sustainable living.

This project stands as a testament to the fusion of timeless elegance and modern functionality, creating a residence that not only meets our family’s needs but also embraces sustainability and technological innovation.
