Balmain House 01

Description

The Victorian terrace house underwent a major transformation, giving it a contemporary twist while preserving its heritage charm.

Upstairs, the interior underwent a complete overhaul to fashion a spacious open-plan layout encompassing the living, dining, and kitchen areas. This upper level now boasts an expanded balcony, perfect for soaking up the sunshine or entertaining guests.

Downstairs, significant changes were made to enhance functionality and flow. The bathroom and main bedroom were smartly relocated to maximise space and convenience. The original dining area was repurposed into a cosy study, ideal for quiet work or reading sessions.

The main staircase was strategically moved to optimise the layout, while new stairs were added to lead down to the lower level. This expanded lower level now boasts a versatile space that doubles as a cinema room or guest bedroom, complete with a convenient bar for entertaining. Additionally, a well-appointed laundry and bathroom were incorporated into this level, adding practicality to the home.

The lower ground floor now seamlessly connects to a levelled rear courtyard, creating an inviting outdoor space for relaxation or alfresco dining. With roller door access to the rear lane, parking is a breeze, making city living more convenient than ever.
